When I was dishes I hook my portable dishwasher up to my kitchen faucet and have the water run. But, I don’t really know when to turn it off so I turn it off after the dishwasher turns off. I was wondering if I could turn the faucet off before then without messing up the cleaning cycle for the purpose of saving money on water? Thanks

The Manual that came with ours (that’s a little book stuck in the tines and bent all out of shape inside the dishwasher when you get it) specifically states you should not do that as an extra squirt of water is added to the pump at the end of the cycle to keep it wet and primed for next load. If the pump is too dry between loads it can deteriorate faster and quit operating.
As long as you have a good seal at the faucet end of your connection to the sink you will not be using extra water in the operation of this equipment.

You can turn it off at the drying cycle.You are not wasting water unless your hook up leaks.The machine does all of that,and only uses what it needs to wash the dishes.It will not mess up anything as the washing cycle has already finished.
