You will need to install a feed pipe from the basement to the dishwasher. At the end of this pipe solder on a connection that will allow you to connect to the faucet end of the flexible feed hose. You should use a reinforced (steel sheathed) hose to diminish the possibility of fatigue bursting. Next locate the drain hose. If you have a disposal unit then look for a projection coming out of the unit. If you aim a flashlight into this plastic projection you will see that it probably has a plastic knockout plug inside it. Using an appropriately sized screwdriver carefully tap this plug one one side to dislodge it and then remove the plug. Install your drain hose with a clamp onto this projection making sure that it is a snug fit. The hose should not be coiled. Turn on the dishwasher and check for leaks. Always use new seals on the hose ends.

If you do not have a disposal then you will need to call a plumber and have the correct fitting assembled to your undersink drain.

I did this once and it worked fine. Just cut the water and drain connector off the end of the portable dishwasher line – the one that hooks to the kitchen faucet. Then put a Tee in your hot water line under the sink – hook one side to the hot water faucet, the other side to the dishwasher water inlet line with appropriate adapter. The drain hose then might have to be adapted to a larger size just before it goes into the drain. Either connect it into the garbage disposal as explained above, or go to any hardware store and get an adapter drain pipe that you can push the drain hose onto and clamp. It will take a bit of ingenuity, but you can do it. We used this dishwasher this way for several years with no problem.

Go buy a dishwasher made for that purpose. Do it right, not halfassed. You can pick up a floor model for about $100.
